Friday, June 24, 2011 12 noon Encampment opens for re-enactor camp setup, located at 224 N. Center Street Saturday, June 25, 2011 10:00 a.m. Encampment opens to the public with unit drill and camp life demonstrations and displays. Children’s games available on request. Sutlers and food will be available. Artillery Demonstration, 1st Maryland, CSA 10:30 a.m. Remarks by President Jefferson Davis, CSA Stephen A. Mallory, Secretary of the Navy, CSA General Robert E. Lee, CSA Brig. General Robert Garnett, CSA 11:15 a.m. Review of Confederate Troops by General Robert E. Lee, CSA Cavalry Tactics Demonstration by 35th Batt. Virginia Cavalry, CSA 11:45 a.m. Workshop-Ribbon Folding for Headpieces by Cindy Hershberg, Millner 12:30 p.m. Re-enactors assemble for parade to Court House for wreath laying at battle monument and Lt. Murray’s grave. Tours of the battle site begin immediately following the ceremony until 4:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. Re-enactors return to encampment to continue unit drill and camp life demonstrations and displays. Remarks by General G.K. Warren, USA Tours of the battle site begin. 2:15 p.m. Workshop-Ribbon Folding for Headpieces by Cindy Hershberg, Millner 3:00 p.m. The 1st Base Ball game between the Elkton Eclipse and the Mechanicsburg Nine. 5:00 p.m. Re-enactors dinner is served. 6:00 p.m. The 2nd Base Ball game between the Elkton Eclipse and the Mechanicsburg Nine. 8:30 p.m. Encampment closes to the public. Sunday, June 26, 2011 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Encampment is open to the public with camp life demonstrations, unit drill and displays. Children’s games available on request. Sutlers and food will be available. 10:00 a.m. A Civil War Tent Style Church Service. Public is welcome. 11:00 a.m. Cavalry Tactics Demonstration by 35th Batt., Virginia Cavalry, CSA 12 noon Tours of the battle site begin until 3:00 p.m. 12:30 p.m. Artillery Demonstration, 1st Maryland, CSA 1:00 p.m. Infantry Demonstration 2:00 p.m. Skirmish Battle 4:00 p.m. Encampment closes.
